It’s been an incredible journey watching the ELCA World Hunger initiative grow and transform over the years. This month's “Go & Do News” reveals more insights and accomplishments of this amazing cause.

Dr. Ryan P. Cumming, who recently transitioned from his role at ELCA World Hunger, reminisces about his first gathering in Des Moines in 2013. The bond that has been built over a decade between the team and the communities is truly heartwarming. Ryan’s journey may have come to an end with the initiative, but his message reminds us that the real leaders of the ministry are the members, supporters, and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to make a difference.

The latest insights reveal some exciting developments. New resources are available for the Advent 2023 and Lent 2024 season, centered around the theme from Isaiah, "The glory of the Lord shall be revealed." Synod hunger team chairs and leaders are invited to the upcoming ELCA World Hunger Leadership Gathering in Houston. Moreover, an update on the Faith Family Village shelter project and an inspiring story from Malawi showcase the impactful reach of the initiative across the globe.

As we gear up to celebrate 50 years of ELCA World Hunger in 2024, the dedication, hard work, and impact over the years remain evident. A powerful reminder that as a community, our combined efforts can lead to positive change, touching lives in over 60 countries.
