Lutheranism 101: Nurturing your faith journey online

In our continuous journey to deepen our faith and connect as a community, we are excited to announce "Lutheranism 101," a comprehensive 4-part online series from the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA this Fall 2023.

Embark on a journey of faith with "Lutheranism 101," a four-part online series by the Southeastern Synod of the ELCA. From September 5 to October 17, immerse yourself in the rich history and beliefs of Lutheranism, guided by esteemed scholars and leaders. Register once and gain access to all four enlightening sessions. Explore more about this exciting learning journey and the specific topics we will delve into.

Designed to engage laity and rostered ministers alike, these 1.5-hour classes offer a profound exploration into the fundamentals of the Lutheran faith and tradition. Each session offers an opportunity to reflect upon our beliefs and immerse ourselves in rich discussions led by esteemed Lutheran scholars and leaders.

  • 9/5/2023: "What Do We Believe?" with Rev. Dr. William R. Russell

  • 9/19/2023: "Adult Catechism" with Bishop Emeritus Julian Gordy

  • 10/3/2023: "Who is Luther?" with Rev. Dr. Justin Nickel

  • 10/17/2023: "Lutheranism in North America" with Rev. Dr. Susan McArver

These virtual classes will be held via Zoom every other Tuesday from 4-5:30pm PDT/MST, 5-6:30pm MDT, starting from September 5, 2023. You can register once to gain access to all four sessions. While we hope you can attend all, each session will be recorded and posted to the Southeastern Synod Formation landing page for future reference.
