Lutheran Social Services's Summer of Impact

Thank you for your continued support of LSSN. Our Fiscal Year ended June 30 so this is the time for us to publish all the amazing things that we did over the last year! Here goes:

  • In the month of June, 2024, we served 2393 households, about 9572 individuals with all of our services! We now average serving between 8,000 and 10,000 people every month!

  • LSSN Digimart served 30% more people in this fiscal year than last year. LSSN recently set a record serving over 800 people in a single day. Last year about a million pounds of food were distributed, equating to 838,000 meals for those in need.

  • LSSN had 20 Mobile Markets bring nutritious foods into food deserts in the previous year. In the 2024 fiscal year, LSSN had 32 Mobile Markets serving 9600 households about 38,400 individuals.

  • LSSN served 28% more seniors than the previous year and served 11,050 hot nutritious meals through the senior meal program.

  • 209 households received housing assistance, enabling them to avoid homelessness or become rehoused after short-term homelessness and many other services; this was 23% more than the previous year. LSSN also served 175 individuals with Employment Services.

  • 2456 children were served for Back to School, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter programs-the most in our history!

  • LSSN started two new locations including a satellite at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church and at a location in North Las Vegas in partnership with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.

  • LSSN recently began providing services to Searchlight Nevada.

  • JOURNEY Senior Services Center broke ground at the LSSN Headquarters and is expected to be operational by the end of October.

Lastly, the Digimart is now open 7 days a week! Check out our recent Grand Opening video on Channel 8 featuring councilwoman and LSSN board member Carrie Cox, councilwoman Victoria Seaman, and CEO Tim Bedwell!
