Thanks so much for collecting peanut butter and helping us combat food insecurity every day here at Lutheran Social Services of Nevada! The peanut butter is starting to arrive. Right now it is just a trickle of peanut butter melting through a hole in a dam, but for sure that dam is going to burst open. Please let me know if you need a Peanut Butter Pickup!

 Shout out to the current leader in the Peanut Butter Wars: Grace Lutheran Church in Henderson has collected 262.56 pounds!

Thanks again to Saint Andrew, Christ the Servant, Four Seasons, Community Lutheran, New Song, Grace Lutheran in Henderson, New Journey Church of Las Vegas, Faith Lutheran, Holy Spirit Lutheran, Good Samaritan and Good Samaritan at the Lakes, and Christ Lutheran in Boulder City!

This protein packed treat is loved by the whole family including kids, parents, grandparents... even some pets enjoy a little skippy! This is a fun-raiser and a food-drive in which churches compete to see who can donate the most peanut butter by weight.

The current reigning Peanut Butter Wars Champion is New Song Church who collected 29,246 pounds last summer. We shall see if they can maintain possession of the prestigious peanut trophy this summer. Shout out to Community Lutheran who collected about 10 carloads of peanut butter. We may have to rent a Uhaul this year 😁.

We also had fantastic showings from Good Samaritan, Christ the Servant, Holy Spirit Lutheran, Living Hope, Good Samaritan at the Lakes, Christ Lutheran in Boulder City, St. Andrew, and Four Seasons Church. We are adding a few additional Churches this year to spread the love even further. Here us how to get involved: 

1. Let us know if you would like to join the Peanut Butter Wars!  Then, create an area in your church where people can give peanut butter donations. You can print the this pdf or image as a sign to mark the spot. I will be sending out Peanut Butter Posts occasionally that you can use to share on social media. You can create your own media but please remember to use #peanutbutterwars. This year we will be giving out an additional award to the Church group that demonstrates the most creativity in their passionate and persistent pursuit of peanut butter! The wars will run from July 1 through Monday, July 31st at 3:30pm. I will send updates along the way especially as the competition heats up! 

2. Drop off the Peanut Butter: Deliver the peanut butter that your group collects to LSSN. Shoot me a line just to let me know when you plan to drop off the peanut butter at 4323 Boulder Hwy, Las Vegas, NV 89121. We will make sure to weigh and log every single pound! 

3. Have us pick the Peanut Butter up: let me know a good time for someone to pick it up. 

4. Money: Too busy to collect pounds and pounds of peanut butter? You can give to us online at lssnv.org/donate/ or mail us a check. Each dollar donated will count for three pounds of peanut butter towards the group total. Just make sure to let me know that your gift is towards the Peanut Butter Wars.
