We pray for the family and friends of Deacon Brenda Laukonis, who died March 16, 2024. She was most recently an administrator at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Tucson and filled many other roles for Lutheran Churches in Alaska and Chicago throughout her life of giving.

Brenda Joy Engelby Laukonis, 84, of Casa Grande died on March 17th, 2024 at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center of pneumonia and heart complications. Brenda was born on February 27th, 1940, in Havre, Montana, and was a daughter of Michael C. Shea and Sophia B. Shea Christensen. She was most recently an administrator at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Tucson and filled many other roles for Lutheran Churches in Alaska and Chicago throughout her life of giving. She later moved to Red Rock and Casa Grande in 2013 and attended First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande and St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with her husband Bob.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ronald Engelby and sister Beverly Rulien and is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Robert Laukonis. She is also survived by her three sons Ronald Engelby and his wife Karen Kinney; Timothy Engelby; her daughter Betsi Velasco and her husband Rich; Daniel Engelby his wife Alissa and sister Michele Romero and her husband Richard; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life ceremony was holed Sunday, March 24th at Beautiful Savior Church, 7570 N. Thornydale Road in Tucson.
