As we continue our commitment to creating an inclusive church environment, the ELCA Disability Ministries is excited to announce the opening of grant applications for 2024. These grants are designed to support projects that uplift people with disabilities, ensuring they can participate fully and lead within our church communities.

Grant Details:

• Amount: $50,000 in total funds available, with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.

• Application Opening Date: May 28th, 2024

• Application Deadline: July 31st, 2024, or upon receiving the first 30 completed applications.

• Announcement of Recipients: Before the end of October 2024.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Applicants must demonstrate their project’s alignment with at least one of the following objectives:

• Promoting leadership roles for individuals with disabilities within the church.

• Equipping congregations with resources to better support and integrate members with disabilities.

• Facilitating connections between individuals with disabilities and the broader church community to foster an inclusive, supportive faith environment.

Project Considerations:

It is essential that projects go beyond basic accommodations, such as building ramps, to ensure they actively contribute to the well-being and inclusion of people with disabilities in meaningful ways.
