Embody the Word: Engage with Faith Leaders at the 2024 Bishop’s Fall Gathering

From Monday, October 21 to Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Grand Canyon Synod invites you to join Bishop Deborah Hutterer at the Spirit in the Desert Retreat Center, located at 7415 E Elbow Bend Road, Carefree, AZ, for a spiritually enriching Fall Gathering under the theme “Embody the Word.” View the full info here.

This gathering is a special opportunity for active rostered ministers, retired pastors, seminary students, and those currently serving internships. We welcome participants to immerse themselves in a full retreat experience, fostering deeper connections with fellow ministers through shared meals, worship sessions, and engaging discussions. Accommodation at the retreat center is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a registration deadline of Friday, September 13, 2024.

Our agenda includes updates from the Synod, enriching worship experiences, and presentations from esteemed guests such as Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe and Elder Perci Ami, who will share insights and stories enriching our theme. Whether you are joining us as a commuter or staying at the retreat center, all participants will enjoy provided meals, including a special provision for guests with severe allergies.

For those concerned about financial barriers, scholarship opportunities may be available through the Office of the Bishop.

Registration options are as follows:

  • Single room: $420

  • Double room (per person): $345

  • Commuter (meals included): $200

To register, visit our event page and select your preferred accommodation and meals. Be mindful that spaces are limited, and early registration ensures your place and preferences. For any changes to your registration or additional inquiries, contact the synod office at office@gcsynod.org or call 602-957-3223.

We look forward to welcoming you to this time of renewal, connection, and spiritual growth as we embody the word together in the serene setting of the Arizona desert.
