Lent is a season of reflection, renewal, and deepening faith. This year, we invite you to journey through Lent with the 2025 ELCA Sumud Lenten Series Resource Guide, a six-week devotional series designed to inspire and challenge through Scripture, prayer, and theological reflection.

This guide, a collaboration between ELCA Sumud, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL), and Bethlehem Bible College, offers powerful perspectives from ELCJHL pastors, student theologians from Bethlehem Bible College, and one of our own ELCA bishops. Through their voices, we are called to stand in solidarity with our siblings in Christ in the Holy Land and reflect on the enduring faith and resilience embodied in the concept of Sumud—steadfastness.

The resource guide provides weekly readings, discussion prompts, and prayers, making it an excellent tool for Bible study groups, Sumud communities, and individual devotion. Whether you are engaging in reflection alone or with your congregation, this Lenten journey offers an opportunity to connect deeply with themes of hope, justice, and steadfast faith.
