Christ the Lord Lutheran organizes NELM relief drive

Christ the Lord Lutheran, Carefree, (CtL) is organizing a literal relief drive, bringing truckloads of items to Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission (NELM). For procedures on how to give and a list of items needed, please read this post in full and use this flyer.

Questions? Please contact Janet Thornhill, jlt1124@gmail.com, or 240-447-1725.

From Pastor Michael Johnson, “Christ the Lord is going to set up its fellowship hall as a “warehouse” for goods. People can bring food to us and leave it outside the office door. We have folks who will regularly bring it inside and/or load it up. Other churches can collect food at their church and we’ll send someone out to get it. We’re setting an arbitrary date of April 7 so we can make trip next week.  If we don’t have enough for a trip by then, we will extend the deadline and if people continue to collect items and bring them here, we will arrange another trip later.”

Located in remote Rock Point, AZ and miles from services (e.g.; grocery, medical, educational). NELM feeds the hungry, provides grade school education and a small medical clinic.

NELM needs our support in order to continue providing essential meals, basic medical services, and learning packets for students to the Navajo Nation.

Please join us in support of NELM by providing donations of non-perishable food, hygiene items, and children’s learning tools. Donations can be dropped-off at the church office Monday - Thursday 9AM - 3PM.
