Longer version

The Executive Committee of the Grand Canyon Synod Council has recommended a 2.5% increase in compensation for rostered ministers in 2025. This adjustment reflects our shared commitment to fair and equitable support for those called to serve in ministry.

Congregation councils and personnel committees are encouraged to consult the Grand Canyon Synod’s compensation guidelines when determining compensation and benefits for their rostered ministers. These guidelines include tools and worksheets to assist congregations in making informed decisions about financial support for their leaders.

The Synod Executive Committee also recommends consulting standard inflation benchmarks when using these guidelines to ensure compensation reflects current economic realities. The guidelines are available for download as a Word document or PDF document for ease of use.

As we seek to nurture vibrant ministry across the synod, this recommendation underscores the value we place on supporting the people who guide and lead our congregations in faith. Congregations are invited to prayerfully consider how they can incorporate this increase into their 2025 budgets.
